It’s really as simple as that! My favorite pizza toppings, so far, have been sausage, pepperoni, and green bell peppers (I use 1/2 cup, diced). I would also love to add mushrooms and olives, but Zach isn’t a fan.

The idea for this soup actually came from Sweet Twist of Blogging. In fact, the croutons did, too, but I completely forgot to leave the attribution. -_- I loved her idea! But I wound up making a lot of changes to the soup the second time around. I hope you enjoy it!

Freezer Friendly Tips

  • One of the great things about this is that you can put all of the ingredients (even the cooked sausage) into the freezer bag and store it. Make this ahead of time and cook it when you’re ready!
  • This can be stored in the freezer for 4-6 months.
  • Use a larger bag than you need (I used a gallon bag), so when it’s flat, it won’t take up as much room.
  • If you make your own chicken broth, it can be frozen for 6-12 months before the flavor begins to fade. Use ice cube trays for faster freezing and thawing.

Budget Friendly Tips

  • Use chicken bouillon instead of packaged liquid broth. It’s the same thing, except all liquid has been evaporated out of it. Or you can make your own chicken broth the next time you cook chicken.
