Pumpkin Pie Liqueur

This pumpkin pie liqueur is like liquid pumpkin pie. Use it to make martinis, pumpkin bombs, or just for sipping on its own.

Did you know that pumpkin pie liqueur actually exists? You may remember it from my pumpkin bombs recipe from last year.

But the already-made stuff is so hard to come by. So I made my own.

Guys. It tastes like a pumpkin pie. Mmmm.

This pumpkin pie liqueur is like liquid pumpkin pie. Use it to make martinis, pumpkin bombs, or just for sipping on its own.

Pumpkin Pie Liqueur

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cups water
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 3 tbsps pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup vodka

Step 01: Bring the sugar and water to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the sugar dissolves.

Step 02: Add the cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree. Again, bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 03: Strain using a fine mesh strainer and cheesecloth. (I didn’t use cheesecloth, but I wish I had. There was no real reason for me to use the coffee filter.)

Step 04: Mix the syrup-y liquid (not the gunk–you don’t need that anymore) with vodka. Enjoy!

You should get about 1/2 cup of syrup. The 1/2 cup of vodka should bring that to 1 cup of liquid. Double this recipe as needed, of course. ๐Ÿ™‚

To get the full flavor each time, remember to shake before serving.

I’m now in the process of coming up with mixed drinks for this. Maybe I’ll get Zach to test it with me on a game day. ๐Ÿ˜€

ETA: We wound up taking it to a tailgate and passing it around. It was gone by the time the bottle got back to me–everyone loved it!

Pumpkin-spiced stuff never gets old despite all the jokes about it lately. The more the better! How intriguing is this liqueur? I bet it would taste fab in a Pumpkin Spiced Latte. Pinning! #learntoblog
