Grape Salad

This is one of my favorite summer dishes, and has recently become one of my sister-in-law’s favorites, too. It’s so easy to make and it’s pretty versatile. Oh, and delicious.

Grape salad is one of my favorite things. It’s sweet, light, and juicy. My mom started making this years ago. Sometimes she puts grapes in the mixture, sometimes she uses it as a fruit dip. (You can use any fruit you want with this, by the way. It doesn’t have to be grapes.)

Back to the point.

Grape Salad // Budget Girl --- A sweet and juicy dessert for summer. Perfect for holidays and BBQs. Add whatever fruit you want or just use the cream cheese mixture as a dip.

Grape Salad

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz sour cream or plain green yogurt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-2 1/2 lbs seedless grapes
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or mixed nuts

Step 01: Use a hand mixer to blend cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl. Add sour cream and vanilla. Stir in the grapes. Top with brown sugar and pecans. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.

See? So easy. As I said, you can replace the fruit with anything you want, really. The brown sugar nuts are optional, of course. Though what you see in the pictures above are not pecans, but almonds. I also almost never refrigerate over night, simply because I’m impatient. This makes a lot of grape salad, though, so I suggest halving it…or even quartering it, if you don’t have a lot of people. You can also leave the grapes out and just dip them in the cream cheese mixture. Yum.
